I wear sunscreen all year round, but once the Summer time hits I really start to stock up! Last year I was unsuccessful in finding a proper sunscreen stick that I could toss in my bag for re-aaplications. This year I have made it my mission to find a great one everyone can use. So, I picked up the new Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 while strolling the aisles at Target and was not left disappointed. Let’s get into all the specs of this affordable mineral sunscreen with no white cast!
Size & Pricing
This sunscreen stick is 0.5 oz and priced at anywhere from $7.88-$9.
Cetaphil is a drugstore brand that can be found at tons of retailers. I suggest checking out Amazon, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, or CVS.

How this compares to other SPF sticks…
I compared this sunscreen stick from Cetaphil to other sunscreen sticks found at the drugstore to see how the sizing and price stacks up:
Cerave Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 – 0.47 oz, $10
Up & Up Adult Sport Sunscreen Stick SPF 55 – 1.5 oz, $7
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Zinc Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 – 1.5 oz, $15
Aveeno Positively Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 – 1.5 oz, $11
Sun Bum Face Sunscreen Stick SPF 30 – 0.45 oz, $10
Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 – 0.5 oz, $14
I would say this stick is smaller than some, but the portability is something I enjoy about it. I still think the size will last several months if used only for the face. Overall, it is very comparable to other sunscreen sticks on the shelf and the finish makes it a real stand-out.
Ingredients
Here’s the full list:
Titanium dioxide 6% (sunscreen), zinc oxide 4.7% (sunscreen) inactive ingredients: aluminum hydroxide, beeswax, bht, butyloctyl salicylate, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, isostearic acid, neopentyl glycol diethylhexanoate, ozokerite, paraffin, polyethylene, stearic acid, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), triethoxycaprylylsilane
This sunscreen stick uses Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide as the UV filters. Other notable ingredients include beeswax as a skin protectant and Vitamin E, which serves as a skin conditioner.
Demo
I love that this doesn’t feel like a heavy, greasy sunscreen like so many physical sunscreens do. It is definitely formulated well for the face, where many SPF sticks are only good for the body. As I said in my demo, I have used this Cetaphil stick over makeup, under makeup, and with many re-applications throughout the day…it worked every time!
Hear me out…there is a slight white cast when this is first wiped onto the skin, but it melts in really quickly. This is one of the few physical options that I see working for most skin tones and not just Casper the Ghost.
Cetaphil Sunscreen Wrap-up
Overall, I think this is a contender for the best affordable sunscreen stick! I am waiting for more of my Skinstagram friends to demo this one to verify it is suitable for all skin tones and types, but from what I can tell, it has a beautiful finish that most will enjoy.
We all love an affordable sunscreen option especially for summertime! Let me know if you pick this up and your thoughts on it! Thanks so much for reading 🙂
Very nice, small, and affordable!
Yes that pretty much sums it up! Love it!
