Nécessaire Body Care Set Full Line Review

Luxury body care is definitely a 2022 skincare trend that is here to stay. Not only are we treating our face with some serious care, but the rest of our body is getting extra attention as well! Becoming an influencer showed me just how many body care lines there are out there. And It turns out some are really, really worth it! Nécessaire is a personal care brand that is sustainable and dedicated to creating the essentials for anyone’s body care routine. I have tried *almost* all of their products, so let’s go through each one and talk about if it’s worth the luxury price tag.

*Disclaimer– I am a Nécessaire affiliate, but this post is not an ad/sponsored. I purchased several products from their line myself, and some are sent to me through PR. If you wish to purchase through the link I have provided at the bottom, I do make a commission. Thanks so much for the support!*

Nécessaire Overview

Nécessaire claims to “design for the necessary”, making all their products essential to anyone’s routine. Their packaging is minimal and clean and they offer limited scent options, including fragrance-free. The best part about Nécessaire, in my opinion, is their sustainability.

They are Certified Climate Neutral, Plastic Neutral Certified, use post-consumer recycled packaging, andddd they’re vegan & cruelty free (source). I have more information about sustainability in skincare on a previous blog you can read here!

Now let’s get into the full reviews...

The Body Wash

Price: $25, 8.4 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Sandalwood

Key Ingredients are rich in Niacinamide, vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6, Omega-9

Other Important Factors: Sulfate Free, 5.50 – 6.50 pH

The Nécessaire Body Wash was my introduction to the brand. I figured no body wash could justify a price that high, but saw it as a fun splurge. Unfortunately for my wallet, I fell absolutely in love. The eucalyptus scent is my favorite- it transforms my steamy shower into a blissful spa paradise.

The texture is a thick gel that foams up nicely. I love the way it cleanses without irritating or stripping the skin at all. My husband is also obsessed with this body wash, and he has frequent eczema flare-ups! This is gentle enough for his skin and mine (but, keep in mind it is not an eczema treatment).

Will I Re-buy?

YES! I have gone through several of these body washes and recently purchased their new refill size. It is $40 for 16.9 fl oz and comes in all the same scent options. you can easily refill your body wash and then recycle this aluminum bottle. You save a full $10 by getting the refill size which is something to keep in mind.

The Body Exfoliator

Price: $30, 6.1 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Sandalwood

Key Ingredients: Bamboo Charcoal, Pumice, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid

Other Important Factors: Can be used twice weekly or catered to specific skin needs, 5.20 – 6.20 pH

I have always loved body scrubs. Spending more on a body scrub product isn’t entirely new to me as I have purchased some luxury brands before. First, I love that this comes in a bottle with a twist cap instead of the tub that most scrubs come in. I also enjoy that this uses physical and chemical exfoliation for the skin. My experience has been very positive with this body scrub- I have gone through two tubes of it!

The eucalyptus is still my favorite scent. It makes me feel so relaxed to scrub the body and it gently foams with the warm shower. I have never experienced any irritation with this product by using it around once or twice a week. I definitely noticed smoother legs by using it during my pre-shave routine.

Will I Re-buy?

YES! This lasts me several months since you don’t use it frequently. I find that the price point does match up with the quality of the ingredients and overall experience I get when using the Nécessaire Body Scrub. I definitely recommend this for a pre-shaving routine and to exfoliate dry skin.

The Body Serum

Price: $45, 5.1 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free Only

Key Ingredients: Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, Aloe Leaf Juice

Other Important Factors: Good for dryness, crepiness & eczema, 3.75 – 4.75 pH

I have not purchased a full size of this product, but I did use a mini size. This is absolutely the most unique product from Nécessaire. Actually, I have never seen any body care products quite like it in general! It’s a lightweight gel serum that sinks into the skin quickly while providing important hydrating, soothing and nourishing ingredients. It is like your lightweight facial serum you use on the face before your moisturizer- but for the body instead!

I enjoyed the feel of this and it definitely soothed my skin. I would recommend this for anyone who dislikes applying lotion or the feeling of any creams on their skin. It layers perfectly under their body lotion, too.

Will I Re-buy?

Probably not. Like I said, I enjoyed this. But for the price…it isn’t essential for my skin type and preferences. I do see why this is favorite for many though!

The Body Lotion

Price: $25, 6.8 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free Only

Key Ingredients are rich in Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6, Omega-9, 2 Carrier Peptides

Other Important Factors: Helps improve crepiness, dryness & supports barrier repair, 4.75 – 5.75 pH

This is officially holy grail status for me. A little Nécessaire-y back story here: I am obsessed with body lotion. I have used it all over my body, every night for yearssss now. So lotions hold a special place in my body care routine. I did not initally have high hopes for this lotion because it is fragrance-free and I am someone who loves all my body products scented. But, that was immediately overshadowed by how wonderful the formula is.

This is non-sticky & the perfect texture to feel hydrating enough without leaving a film. It actually improves my skin, too. The Nécessaire Body Lotion is one of the sparse few I can use after shaving without causing any burning or irritation (I have super sensitive legs).

Will I Re-buy?

YES! This product is essential for me and 100% worth the price.

The Body Oil

Price: $35, 3.4 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free Only

Key Ingredients: Sweet Almond Oil, Hazelnut Seed Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil. Multi-Vitamin Rich Formula

Other Important Factors: 100% Organic & Cold-Pressed, Moisturizes and nourishes the entire body

I am just as obsessed with body oils. I typically use them on my arms and legs on top of lotion after every shave. I also utilize them in my daily routines in the Winter time! I know that body oils are not for everyone, but if you like a richly hydrating formula- I would check this out. It doesn’t feel too heavy or greasy like many oils can.

My main gripe with this product is the packaging. I like the aesthetic of it, but the dropper is kind of messy and I always have the wipe the top after using it. I know they do this becuase of their sustainability pledge and making a recyclable pump is hard. So, it isn’t a deal breaker in the end for me.

Will I Re-buy?

Probably! Most body oils are expensive. This is a very high quality so I don’t feel like it is priced too high. I really enjoy using it and the bottle I have has lasted me around 6-8 months.

The Body Bar

Price: $20, 5 fl oz

Scents: Fragrance-Free Only

Key Ingredients: Black Sand, Jojoba Seed Oil, Charcoal Powder, Niacinamide, Marula Seed Oil

Other Important Factors: Provides physical exfoliation, Sulfate Free, Use 1-2 times weekly as your body wash/exfoliator in one

Typically I do not like body bars. I actually recieved this for free on a purchase I made and figured why not give it a try. It actually felt very luxurious and had a nice exfoliating texture. The Nécessaire body bar left my skin clean, exfoliated and not dry at all! My husband could not stop raving about this one either.

Will I Re-buy?

YES! Since you are supposed to use this a couple times a week, it lasts a long time. I was using it very frequently though because I couldn’t get enough LOL…(I didn’t notice any over exfoliation from that either). I would get this instead of the exfoliator and switch it up. I love the scent and feel of the body exfoliator, but this bar is just really lovely too. I can’t decide between the two.

A Few Products I Haven’t Tried…

The Deodorant Gel

The Shampoo & Conditioner

The Hand Cream

Where to Purchase Nécessaire Products

My affiliate link through their website: http://necessaire.com/taratheestie

I highly recommend purchasing on the website because they always have deals where you get free products on purchases of (usually) $35 or more! They also have all the sets and even a subscription service option.

You can also easily add the products to your Sephora cart if you prefer that!

Which Nécessaire products are you going to try? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this luxury body care brand! Thanks for reading 🙂
