My 5-10 minute Makeup Routine for Fresh Skin!

Welcome back to the blog!

This week we are going to put the research aside and be candid about my morning routine. Let’s be real, who has enough time for a full face of makeup in the morning before starting the day? I follow a quick and easy 5-10 minute makeup routine almost every morning before work, because I am not a morning person and I normally sleep way too late to spend much time on my appearance. However, I want to look fresh and awake all day at work, and wearing a little bit of makeup makes me feel better! After all, I sell beauty and skin while at work, so it does help my case a little bit to look good.

Here are some of my favorites and the order I apply them every morning.

Skincare:

I have talked about my morning skincare routine in a previous blog, but I thought I would share exactly what skin care I am using right now.

  • Moisturize with Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream
  • I finish with either Coola Sun Silk Drops, or Supergoop Mineral Matte Sunscreen

Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40 1.5 oz/ 45 mL Clean at Sephora

Next, we are ready for some makeup. The skin care only takes a few minutes to do, and I never, ever skip that!

  • I use Nars Soft Matte Concealer in a shade only slighter light than my skin tone, under my eyes, on my chin, a little in between my eyebrows and to conceal any pimples or redness as well on other areas of my face. I usually use a stippling brush or sponge to blend this out.

I LOVE this concealer because it covers and dries down, but isn’t heavy or drying. It is pricey, but well worth it I think!

Next, I set my face with an all over powder. I have been using the LA Girl matte pressed powder with a large powder brush to even out the skin tone and mattify the face.

If you are more dry, you do not need to set the entire face during this step, maybe just under the eyes to prevent creasing.

Now, bronze it up to get glowing skin! Now that it is warmer out, I tend to use more bronzer and usually pick one with a sheen to it. I love the Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Capri Coast. I take a fluffy brush and blend under cheekbones and on forehead.

  • Blush is optional, but I have been enjoying the Morphe Warm Master Blush Palette

This palette includes some shimmery blush toppers, which I often will use in place of highligher. If I don’t use a blush topper, I highlight with my favorite highlighter from Kylie Cosmetics in Cotton Candy Cream on top of cheekbones and under brow bone.

Last few steps are super easy! I brush through my eyebrows with the Elf Wow Brow Gel. I love this product when I do not want to spend the 10 minutes it takes to fully do my eyebrows. This tints them, sets them in place, and leaves them looking soft instead of hard and crunchy.

I then apply mascara after a quick curl to the lashes. When I am heading to work for the day, I need a mascara that won’t melt under my eyes and leave me looking like a raccoon. I do not always love waterproof mascara, but I discovered this “sweatproof” one by Covergirl that I really enjoy. The Covergirl Lash Blast Active stays on all day, doesn’t flake in my eyes, and gives my lashes good length! Is it my all time favorite mascara, no, BUT it is cheap and works great for a busy day.

I enjoy setting everything with a little mist of setting spray before heading out, especially since I do use quite a bit of powder.

I am loving the Anastasia Dewy Set as it makes my skin super glowy and fresh! It is very similar to Mac Fix+, if you have tried that before.

Now that I have written it all down, it does seem like alot of steps but I promise that it doesn’t take long! My face always looks bright and awake without even being able to tell that I have much makeup on. I rarely touch up other than blot my face if needed!
